Chasing the light .....

I wandered and roamed,
Rode up the hill,
And crossed the bridge leading to the other side of the road,
And took the path to the lesser known place,
Then..
There was a pause...
Was it the path to my destination...
No...
I turned back and decided to follow the light,
I took the path with twists and turns,
Filled with the unknowns,
I was chasing the light of the setting sun.

IF ONLY .....

I wanted to tell you ...
How my days went by,
How restlessly my nights were spent,
How it felt on the thunderous rainy days,

I wanted to tell you..
How soothing I found the sound of crackling leaves
When stepping on these after the fall,
How these small joyful moments could create eternal memories,
How the child in me longs for such sweet little things,

I wanted to tell you,
The deepest and darkest secrets of mine,
To share the smallest of joys,
To forgive and forget every mistake...
.... If only you could have stayed for one more moment....
